It starts in a bedroom corner
Three monitors on a riser, a rack of outboard gear under the desk, two MIDI keyboards and a wall of vinyl and posters. Small room, big plans.
One photo. One ridiculous plush chicken hat. One friend with a nickname that stuck forever — “Crazy Chicken.” The studio name was born from the laugh, and the mascot was drawn to match the man.
Crazy Chicken Studios is the home recording studio of Angelo Coelho — a one-man workshop of keyboards, guitars, pads and screens where songs get born in spare time and grow with patience.
“This is my own home recording studio. I started it to learn music in my spare time… Music is a passion for me. I've been away for a while, but I'm back at full throttle.”
An 80's & 90's lover at heart, Angelo writes in the space between progressive rock and new age — and the best chapter is still being recorded.
How it started, the golden age, the quiet years — and what comes next.
Three monitors on a riser, a rack of outboard gear under the desk, two MIDI keyboards and a wall of vinyl and posters. Small room, big plans.
The second setup was the biggest and most complete: a fully loaded 19-inch rack, multiple synths, a triple-screen DAW desk and a wall of controllers. This was Crazy Chicken Studios at full volume.
Then came the move, and the sickness that followed. The studio shrank to a corner and the music went quiet — the gear kept working, but at a whisper instead of a roar.
The music never really stopped, and the old gear still sings when the hand itches. The comeback studio is coming — the chicken is crazy, but never cured.

Progressive rock with a sweet tooth — layered guitars and odd-time grooves from the vault.
New-age drift down the rabbit hole — ambient textures and patient melodies.
The journey begins — progressive rock / new age, the track that set the studio's compass.
Keyboards, six-strings, pads and a wall of vinyl — every corner tuned for writing, tracking and having fun.
…plus a Darth Vader helmet, a Hendrix poster, and a vintage wall phone. A studio with a soul.
The studio through the years — gear, corners, and the man behind the chicken.
